Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on the 28th of October 1967 at Atlanta. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts living in Atlanta. Her father was a young man when he began to take an interest in theater. While he was a pupil studying at Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he took part in several shows. He joined the military in 1953. During his time stationed in Biloxi Mississippi, was cast in an army production that featured Betty Lou Bredemus who was also in the air force. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in 1957. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In 1957, the couple left the airforce and Walter started his education at Tulane. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local children's Saturday morning television program Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. They also established the six-year Actors and Writers Workshop later the same year. In 1965, they welcomed two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
