Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first person in history to achieve a score of 10 in competing in the Olympics. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was just six years old. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in which she was 13th place in 1969. In 1970, Comaneci was crowned champion. Her first ever international event in 1972 she came out on top having won three golds. In her debut as a senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. In 1976, she became the world's first woman who used a double backwards salto to dismount from the parallel bars. The journey of Carol Wayne into the realm of entertainment began when she was a teenager. With her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in entertainment when she was in her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating performances that were followed by musical performances.
